HBOT – Hyperbaric Medicine

HBOT involves breathing 100% oxygen in a pressurized vessel (Hyperbaric Oxygen Chamber). Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy is a well-established treatment for decompression sickness from scuba diving accidents.

 In a Hyperbaric Chamber, the air pressure is increased to greater than atmospheric pressure and the patient breathes Oxygen through a mask or hood system. In this environment your lungs can absorb more oxygen than would be possible breathing pure oxygen at normal atmospheric pressure.

As blood carries this increased level of O2 (Oxygen) through your body, the additional Oxygen helps in the healing process for a number of approved indications.
